Community Sentinel Award Reception 2018

Four community advocates working to protect their communities from the harms of oil and gas development were recently selected by a panel of judges to receive the 2018 Community Sentinel Award for Environmental Stewardship, presented by FracTracker Alliance:

• Ellen Gerhart – Pennsylvania
• Natasha Leger – Colorado
• Rebecca Roter – Pennsylvania
• Youth award: Nalleli Cobo – California

Ellen, Natasha, Rebecca, and Nalleli will each receive $1,000 for their efforts and be recognized at an evening reception at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday, November 26, 2018. The reception will also recognize the heroes of the movement who passed away in the last year.

The reception, which is serving as the kickoff to "Defending Our Land and Environment: A National Gathering to Fight Eminent Domain for Pipelines," will feature Lauren Davis of The 11th Hour Project as our keynote speaker and David Braun of Rootskeeper as our inspirational emcee. The event is intended to be a special affair, with an appreciative audience in attendance and the limelight focused on the winners – emblematic of so many brave and tireless activists nationwide.

Tickets to the Community Sentinel Award reception cost $40 per person, and include the award ceremony, networking, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. View current award sponsors and partners.
